I mentioned awhile ago that I got a free book.
Low and behold it came in the mail!

I looked at that website almost religiously in Japan.

I will probably end up reading it just so I can go sell it at Powell's bookstore. Frankly it's a good read so far and I'm excited to have it, but there is no way in my right mind or wrong mind that I would spend $26 on a book about the history of Glock firearms. Now, if it were a book about HK (Heckler & Koch GmbH) firearms...

Bleh, I'd rather save my money for more gun-stuff, but I can't see that in my immediate future or future at all.

The book even describes how a Glock functions with it's Safe-Action trigger.

2012年1月11日 Free stuff again

This time I heard some cool shit, "Sit in the class, I don't mind." Awesome. Hella awesome, then I realized sitting in that class is literally like taking 6 straight solid hours of a single language at once.

When I looked at my schedule, weighing the pros and cons (more class for free more or less, vs more opportunities for work), I just stared at the wall. I thought about those little things in life.

Like women's legs or small wrists.

Or when I read about the woman with "two vaginas".

2011年10月26日 Great idea, but execution sucks

The most recent update of the iPod by Apple has a neat function with blogger. If you click on the title of this, or another title that's posted on this blog, and then click "Reader" where the URL is at. It turns the blog into a book-esuqe looking (web)page. I don't know if this works with other mobile devices.

So far it's pretty neat, but the bullshit happens when colors or other things come into effect, or rather not come into effect.

Pros:

• Gives a book-like feel to the reading experience
• Makes things black-on-white for easier reading, depending on how you feel
• Links appear to still function
• YouTube support

Cons:

• It's bullshit that text ONLY appears as black-on-white, goodbye oranges.
• Not all pictures show up.
• Format changes a bit.

So basically the reader function is more like a novel idea, geared for those who want to read at their own leisure without the color and structure that I personally enjoy. Since I've wrote most of the shit here, I don't personally see the reason to use such for my own personal consumption, as most blogs I read are done via desktop PC.

None of this matters anyhow unless you own a mobile device (such as that of a iPhone, iPod, iPad, whatever).

I feel like God ought to feel the same way about humans. We're a great idea, but the end result, with humans acting on their own volition, kind of sucks. If you don't believe me, look up Die Endlösung [Link].

A few years back I had a sweet green trucker hat. It was the kind of hat where they company took extra company logo patches and had them sewn onto hats. It was totally badass. Well, before I came back from Japan I the adjuster on the back of the hat broke, so I was more or less resigned to give up the hat since I could really repair it. I eventually gave it to a French guy who constantly wore green and listened to techno and house almost hourly.

The other day I noticed that my West Virginia hat was more or less falling under the same circumstances, so I got an idea:
Why not just ask Lynden Transport if they still have have a hat like that?

So did just that. The following week, this last Monday, I got an email asking me for my address. I gave my address, and by the next day I got three brand new hats. This is awesome!

When emailed them back about how I am a "happy camper." They, who will not be named, said:

That’s Great!

I suppose it makes sense that a transport company sends stuff out pretty damn fast, but wow. I did not expect to get hats within a full 24 hours or so.

As for the hats the middle hat looks ugly in the picture, and it's mainly because it was folded to fit in the box. I like the right one, but I often wear the left, even though it matches nothing I wear. Like my original Lynden Transport Alaska hat, the green one doesn't match anything I wear, but it seems like a rugged hat nonetheless. Hopefully it's just as rugged and durable as my original.

Now if I only wore rapist glasses, instead of contacts, I could look like one of those creepy fuckers on the train who never smile at people.
